ParaView Recipes for WaterCyclonR7

These steps assume you open the decomposed case directly (it is fine to use the case root with decomposePar outputs; ParaView can read processor directories). If performance is an issue, you can reconstructPar a subset of times.

## 1) Particle tracks (.vtp) from `lagrangian/cloud/positions`
- Open the case in ParaView (OpenFOAM reader) and load the desired **time range** (exclude warm-up; start at 2.000002).
- In the **Properties** of the OpenFOAM reader:
- Enable **Lagrangian** arrays you care about: `positions`, `U`, `d`, `age`, etc.
- Use **Temporal Particles To Pathlines** (Filters → Temporal) on the lagrangian representation:
- Set **Mask Points** if needed to keep a representative subset (e.g., 1:100) for clarity.
- Set the **Integration Time** to cover the interval of interest (e.g., from 2.000002 to final).
- Apply and **Save Data** as `.vtp` if you need to share static tracks.
## 2) Velocity fields (U.water)
- Select the volume (internalMesh) and apply **Glyph** or **Stream Tracer**:
- For **Stream Tracer**, seed with a **High Resolution Line Source** passing through the cyclone axis.
- Visualize magnitude of `U.water` and also components by applying **Calculator** filters:
- Define `Vz = U.water_Z`
- Define `Vx = U.water_X` (or `Vy` depending on your axis orientation).
- For grid-based visualization, use **Slice** at multiple `Z` levels (see item 5).
## 4) Representative particle paths (few seeds)
- Use **Point Source** with a small radius at the inlet region and feed that to **Stream Tracer** on the `U.water` field.
- Alternatively, display only a small random sample of the lagrangian cloud (use **Mask Points**), then apply **Temporal Particles To Pathlines**.
## 5) Vertical cuts (slices along cyclone)
- Apply **Slice** filter with **Normal (0,0,1)** to generate horizontal planes at desired heights.
- On each slice:
- Use **Calculator** to compute and display `U_mag = mag(U.water)`, `Vz = U.water_Z`, `Vx = U.water_X`.
- Use **Plot Over Line** on each slice to extract radial profiles or **Extract Data Over Time** for temporal evolution.
- Save views or **Save Animation** to document the evolution over time.
## 6) Exporting figures
- Use **Save Screenshot** for static plots.
- Use **Save Animation** (e.g., MP4) for time evolution of slices or particle paths.
- For reproducibility, **Save State** (`.pvsm`) once you arrange filters and coloring.

Tip: Keep the time controls starting at 2.000002 (or earliest >= that) and ending at the final time.
